If you think you have been sexually assaulted, it may be hard to know what to do or how to feel. What happened was not your fault. What you do next is your choice.  


  • Are you in immediate danger? If you are in immediate danger or seriously injured, you can call 999.
  • Finding a safe space.  If possible, try and find somewhere you feel safe. If this isn't possible and you are on campus you can call security on 020 7919 7105 or our campus support officers on 020 7919 7284. Campus support officers works out of hours as a first point of contact for absolutely anything, seven days a week 6pm to 6am.

  • To a friend. Talking things through with someone you trust can sometimes help.
  • Student Wellbeing Service: Goldsmiths’ student wellbeing advisors are experienced in supporting students who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence, harassment, stalking and/or sexual misconduct. Appointments can be booked through the Student Wellbeing Service by contacting wellbeing@gold.ac.uk
  • Independent specialist support. There are a large number of support services you can call or visit who you can talk with about what has happened to you.

  • Reporting to the police. If you're thinking of reporting to the police, rape crisis have produced a useful list of things to think about.
  • Reporting the incident anonymously.  You can call crime stoppers at any point on 0800 555 111 or use their online form.
  • If on public transport in London. You can report to TFL
  • Report and Support. Students and staff can report an incident using the Goldsmiths' Report and Support system. You can choose to do this anonymously or you can request support by filling in the form with your contact details.
  • University Procedure. If you choose to make a formal complaint to the University against a student or a member of staff there are procedures which set out the steps you'll need to follow
